Preparing your body for pregnancy is a journey tha Preparing your body for pregnancy is a journey that begins well before conception⬇️⬇️

Scientific evidence supports starting well in advance to create an optimal environment for conception and pregnancy health.

Here’s a detailed timeline to guide your preconception care:

🌱6–12 Months Before Conception: Lay the Foundations
• Transition off hormonal birth control to allow your body’s natural endocrine system to rebalance. This period supports normalization of ovulation and endometrial lining development.
• Support digestive health to optimize nutrient absorption and gut microbiome balance.
• Prioritize regulating stress responses by supporting the HPA axis to reduce cortisol-related disruptions to reproductive hormones.
• Regulate your circadian rhythm to support your body’s hormones, sleep, detoxification, metabolism, etc.
🌱6-9 Months Before: Deepen Nourishment
• Focus on nutrient-dense, whole foods for hormone synthesis, egg and sperm quality, and early embryonic development.
• Emphasize blood sugar balance through balanced meals to reduce inflammation.
🌱3-5 Months Before: Fine-Tune Your Cycle
• Track ovulation using basal body temperature and cervical mucus to confirm healthy luteal and follicular phases.
• Support cervical mucus quality with hydration and nutrient support, as it facilitates sperm survival and transport.
• Align lifestyle with your menstrual cycle phases, honoring biological rhythms.
🌱1-2 Months Before: Prepare Your Heart & Mind
• Set clear intentions and cultivate emotional readiness—chronic psychological stress impacts fertility through inflammation.
• Slow down, reduce external stressors, and create both physical and emotional space to support nervous system regulation.
✨✨Remember: Preconception is a season, not a sprint.

In our society, so many women are carrying this de In our society, so many women are carrying this deep fear of “doing it wrong” and chasing perfection.
Then, when things don’t go according to how we envisioned, we beat ourselves up about everything we did wrong.
But it is so important to remember this:
We must pause to ask the question, “What is actually mine to carry — and what do I need to surrender?

Here’s what that can look like:
→ Returning to the Word and letting truth anchor you.
God’s Word speaks peace into our uncertainty.
My favorite verse right now (it ebs and flows with the different seasons of my life) is Romans 8:6: “The mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”
What we dwell on shapes how we show up each day and who we are —so root your thoughts in Scripture.

→ Surrendering control — even over the good things
Even good things in our life or the hope of good things to come can become burdens if we try to hold them too tightly.
Daily surrender means giving those desires back to the Lord — and trusting He will care for them even better than we can.

→ Leaning into God’s care for your story
Your journey is known and loved by the Author and Perfecter of Life. Remember that wherever you are on your journey, God is present in this season, too.

→ Understand that you can be both wise in preparation and faithful in trust.
It’s about preparing like the ants storing up for harvest (Proverbs 30:25) while also putting your trust in the Lord and building your house upon the rock (Matthew 7:24-27)
Stewardship and surrender go hand-in-hand as you prepare for pregnancy.

Save this post as a reminder on those days when the physical preparation is hard.
Did you know your fertility is deeply influenced b Did you know your fertility is deeply influenced by your circadian rhythm — your body’s internal 24-hour clock?
It controls things like:
✨ Hormone release (which influences everything about the ovulation cycle)
✨ Mitochondrial energy (fuel for egg + uterine lining quality)
✨ Pregnenolone production (the “mother” hormone)
✨ Your stress response, digestion, and metabolism
When your rhythm is synced through light, sleep, food, and daily habits, your hormones flow more smoothly — and your body feels safe to conceive.
⁣
But when your rhythm is off?
Disruptions can lead to hormonal imbalances, poor egg quality, and increased stress on the body.
⁣
📲 Swipe through to learn:
1️⃣ What circadian rhythm actually is
2️⃣ How it’s connected to your mitochondria & hormones
3️⃣ What to do today to start syncing your rhythm for fertility
➡️ Your body was designed to run in rhythm — let’s get back in sync.

You don’t have to wait until you’re actively T You don’t have to wait until you’re actively TTC to support your fertility.
In fact, preconception is the most powerful time to nourish your body and lay the foundation for a healthy pregnancy.

Inside my coaching practice, I guide women through this 7-step framework to prepare for conception:

1) Nutrition
2) Digestion
3) Charting
4) Rhythm
5) Stress
6) Hormones
7) Detox

Whether you’re thinking of trying in 6 months or next year, the time to start preparing is now—and it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

If you’re thinking about TTC, the months before If you’re thinking about TTC, the months before conception are crucial for setting a strong foundation — for both the mother and the father! Here are five important things you should do BEFORE trying to conceive:

Transition Off Birth Control at Least 6 Months Before TTC
BC can impact your body’s natural hormone balance and metabolic function. Allowing 6-12 months after stopping BC helps your cycle normalize, supports optimal hormone production, and improves egg+uterine quality.

Nourish with Nutrient-Dense Foods
These nutrients are foundational for hormone synthesis, egg and sperm quality, and early fetal development.

Support Digestion and Liver Health
Efficient digestion and liver detoxification are vital for hormone clearance and nutrient absorption. The liver metabolizes excess hormones and environmental toxins. Supporting gut health can improve nutrient uptake which is key to fertility.

Prioritize Rest and Stress Relief
Chronic stress elevates cortisol, which disrupts reproductive hormones like GnRH, LH, and FSH, impairing ovulation and sperm production. Prioritizing sleep, relaxation techniques, and gentle movement helps regulate the HPA axis, fostering a fertile environment.

Regulate Circadian Rhythm
Our bodies rely on circadian rhythm to regulate hormone secretion, metabolism, and cellular repair. It influences reproductive hormones and other systems vital to pregnancy and fertility.

✨ These tips honor your body’s design and create a thriving environment for new life.

Comment “🌱” to get my guide to start suppor Comment “🌱” to get my guide to start supporting your metabolism for fertility and pregnancy.

If you’re trying to conceive but experiencing cold hands and feet, constant fatigue, or basal temps that stay below 97.4°F… your body might be undernourished. (This is not an exhaustive list!)

Here’s why that matters ⬇️
When you don’t eat enough—especially enough nutrient-dense foods—your metabolism slows to conserve energy.
And since fertility isn’t essential for immediate survival, it’s often one of the first systems your body downregulates.
This is just one of the things that happens, and there is often a lot more going on that almost acts like a domino effect.

❄️ Cold extremities = blood being prioritized to vital organs
😴 Waking up tired = not enough cellular energy production (aka ATP)
🌡️ Low basal temps = reduced thyroid function + slowed metabolic rate

The good news? When you nourish your body consistently, it feels safe again. Your temps rise. Your energy returns. And your hormones can rebalance.

🧡 If this resonates, you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. Your body’s just asking for more support.
The world says “just try harder”—but the truth is, your body is already working hard to protect you. Sometimes, it’s about slowing down, eating enough good food, and trusting the process + intricate design of your body as your begin nourishing yourself.

✨ Save this as a reminder—and follow for more tips for holistic womanhood rooted in nourishment.
I say it on repeat because it’s true: Pregnancy I say it on repeat because it’s true:
Pregnancy prep matters.
Not because you need to be perfect—
But because your body and your future baby are worth the care.
Because preparing your body before you conceive changes everything—for you and your baby.
And because the root work now builds the foundation for later. 💫
