While the overarching themes are the same, it’s important to not take a supplement simply because someone else said it’s good for you. When considering supplementation, make sure to consider current stressors, previous stressors, current lifestyle, the stage you were at in life things, you are planning to do or take on in the next year, or even consider nutrients you know you are not getting from the food you eat. The amazing thing about food is that when it is good quality food, it will contain the perfect balance of specific nutrients that work together inside the body. That is why I love a food first approach, with targeted supplementation based on individual need. Did you know that charting your cycle can be very Did you know that charting your cycle can be very beneficial when preparing for pregnancy⬇️⬇️ And it’s for more than just the fact that when you learn to chart your cycle you can get off of birth control much sooner in order to restore fertility💃 Charting your cycle can give a lot of insight into hormone health and what needs the most support. For example, you can learn a lot about progesterone levels through the length of your luteal phase-which can be detected very simply through charting🧮 You will also be able to key into your fertile window as when you chart your cycle you are able to detect what days are fertile and when you are approaching ovulation 🥚 finally learning how to chart your cycle leaves to body literacy where you are in tune with exactly what is happening in your reproductive system. I’ve been seeing a ton of posts lately about mag I’ve been seeing a ton of posts lately about magnesium and the wonders of it and how everyone should go start supplementing with all its different types right now🤔 I agree that magnesium is an absolutely essential mineral to just about every aspect of health, we shouldn’t just supplement it blindly📢 This is because minerals do not work in isolation. In fact, minerals can actually deplete other minerals when we are not careful with how we supplement these minerals (how many time can I say “mineral” in this post🤣). Well, I’m not saying to immediately ditch all the magnesium supplementation, what I am saying is it is important to be aware of how magnesium interact with sodium and calcium among other minerals✨✨ If we are supplementing with a ton of magnesium, but disregarding sodium, even to the point of prioritizing, a low sodium diet, this could actually be pretty detrimental to health⬇️⬇️ In fact, the body might struggle to absorb magnesium more because sodium is essential for the creation of stomach acid. If our sodium stores are used up because of the mass intake of magnesium without also prioritizing sodium, the body will not be as supported to produce stomach acid, which is key in the digestive process. When digestion is off, nutrients like minerals will not be absorbed as well😱 Similarly, magnesium can deplete calcium if we are not careful. I do not recommend calcium supplementation, it is important to remember that we should prioritize calcium rich foods in the diet when supplementing with magnesium. (Who am I kidding? We should always prioritize calcium rich foods😅) All that to say, this is just a gentle reminder that minerals do not work in isolation, so it’s important to prioritize a nutrient dense diet filled with all the minerals that work hand in hand to support our health💃 Want to learn how to prioritize minerals through your diet and how to safely supplement magnesium? The sun does a lot more than provide us with Vitam The sun does a lot more than provide us with Vitamin D☀️ It is key in sleep regulation. It drives the production of our wake and sleep cycle. For example, sunlight is key in melatonin production. Did you know melatonin is not only key to sleep, but also acts in a similar way to Vitamin D in regards to immune function?! That’s one big reason why we should still aim to get sunlight in the winter. It also drives the production of our reproductive hormones, with some precursors (the things that create these hormones) being triggered by sunlight inside our cells🤯 It influences blood sugar regulation, which is key to hormone health and fertility. Most importantly, it brings joy❤️ So even though we’re in the middle of winter, get out at least a bit each day and enjoy to light hitting your face✨
Just some food for thought in light of the FDA’s Just some food for thought in light of the FDA’s decision to ban red food dye no.-3 (no pun intended because it NEVER should have been introduced to food in the first place😣) Red food I number three is a synthetic food dye or food coloring that studies have linked to cancer among other issues. Well, I am so happy that we are taking a step in the right direction and banning this toxic substance from food. It is important to remember some of the facts⬇️⬇️ For one companies have until January 2027 to replace this food dye. Well, I understand that transitions like this can take time. It’s important to remember that if our health were really in everyone’s best interest companies would remove this long before 2027. In fact, it’s important to ask the question, FDA rulings aside, “if these research findings on the risks of this food dye have been known for so many years that 35 years ago, it was banned from cosmetics, why are food companies willingly putting it in our food and our children’s snacks?” Make sure to read your food labels because unfortunately, a lot of food producers out there care far more about making a profit than they do about the health and well-being of people. As proof, look at the mass amount of food products that STILL, in the year 2025, contain red food dye no. 3. I encourage you to pay attention as well to what hasn’t been banned. Because these companies still have plenty more to work with that can save a buck.

For one thing, fats act as precursors to hormone creation- including reproductive hormones such as progesterone☀️ While a lot more is at play than fat alone, it is important to honor fat for what it is- a vital part of our health and wellbeing. So enjoy that butter🧈 Enjoy that coconut oil🥥 Enjoy that delicious avocado🥑 They are helping your body to flourish✨✨ I am happy to share some studies with you if you want to dig into just how important fats are👋
Did you know that optimal fertility requires both Did you know that optimal fertility requires both adequate protein consumption and adequate fat consumption⬇️ Protein acts as the building blocks for everything in our body, and fat acts as an essential component of the hormones- think progesterone and testosterone- that we consume✨ A good rule of thumb is that if you are consuming enough high quality protein, you’re probably consuming good fat stores as well. Adding in some butter, ghee, or coconut oil into your cooking will help supplement this🧈🥥 Aim for around 30-40 grams of protein in each meal, and around 10 g of protein to snacks✨ Do you notice a difference when you’re intentional with protein and fat consumption?
